In order not to experience hearing problems, it is necessary to pay attention to ear hygiene. However, foreign substances introduced while cleaning the ears pose a risk to ear health. Ellis Lloyd Jones, 24, bought a small camera wrapped in an ear pick to remove stubborn earwax. Ellis, who wanted to see the dirt in his ear with this camera, found more than he expected in the ear canal. He shared what he heard on TikTok.
FOR YEARS
With his effort, Ellis managed to remove the foreign body found in his ear. Ellis, who had a label stuck on the apples from his ear, was quite surprised by what he saw. “I haven’t had a gala apple in years. So this tag has been in my ear for years,” he said. The clip has been shared more than four million times, and viewers were amazed at how the apple tag had been kept for so long.
THINK HE LABELED AS A CHILD
Another follower asked, “How did that get in there?” she asked. Ellis replied: “I can only assume I put it in when I was a kid.”
HOW TO REMOVE FOREIGN ITEMS IN THE EAR?
- Tilt your child’s head to see if the object will fall.
- If you can see the object in the ear and think you can easily remove it, carefully pull it out with a pair of tweezers. Be careful not to push any deeper and do not poke your ear or try to forcefully remove the object. The ear canal is very sensitive and this can be painful.
- If it’s a live insect, kill it before trying to remove it. Put a few drops of warm (not hot) baby oil or vegetable oil in the ear. Have your child bend over and shake his head slightly to remove the insect. Do not use this method for anything other than insects, and do not use it if your child is in pain, has bleeding from his ear, or has a tube in his ear.
- If you are sure that the eardrum has not been injured and that your child does not have a tube in his ear, try washing the object with some warm water.
