What a drama Valtteri Bottas lost to the favorite of

Valtteri Bottas was tenth in the Canadian GP after the dramatic stages. Bottas edged out Lance Stroll by just 0.030 seconds in the battle for the final points. Lando Norris’s penalty saved Bottas one point.

Valtteri Bottas has driven for the second time this season for points in formula one. The Finnish driver was tenth in the Canadian competition in Montreal. The last time Alfa Romeo’s Finnish driver was in the points was in the opening race of the season in Bahrain, more than three months ago at the beginning of March.

Bottas started the race from the 14th grid, but immediately lost two places after a slow start. Alpine Esteban Ocon and Haas Kevin Magnussen toasted by.

George Russell however, after his own mistake, he hit the barrier on the 12th lap. So many parts came off the Mercedes driven by Russell that a safety car was called to the track.

Valtteri Bottas was one of the five drivers who did not visit the pits. As a result, Bottas rose to eighth. The Finn pulled through the race with one pit stop and was able to keep his place in the points.

At the end, we saw a tight battle for the last points for Williams by Alex AlbonOcon, Bottas, Mercedes by Lando Norris and Aston Martin By Lance Stroll in progress.

Norris was burdened by a five-second time penalty in the fight, which he received for “unsportsmanlike conduct.” The situation was not revealed in more detail, but on Viaplay and Sky Sports it was speculated that the penalty was connected to the events with the safety car. Norris was suspected of slowing down too much behind the safety car.

Five laps before the end, Norris overtook Bottas and dropped the Finn to tenth. Stroll also tried to get past the Finn. The Canadian squeezed past the Finn on the final straight by 0.030 seconds. Bottas finished eleventh, but rose to tenth in the final results due to Norris’ penalty.

The competition was won by Red Bull Max Verstappen. Verstappen, who leads the series by far, drove from pole to victory sovereignly. There was a bit of drama before the end of Viitisen’s lap, when Verstappen drove recklessly over the curb and had to slide into the wall.

Fernando Alonso beat Mercedes in the battle for second place Lewis Hamilton.

For Verstappen, the victory was victory number 41 in his F1 career. He joined Ayrton Senna as the fifth driver with the most F1 race victories. For Red Bull, the victory was the 100th in the F1 series.

– This is unbelievable. I myself did not expect to be in such winning numbers. We are going to enjoy and work hard. Today was another wonderful day, Verstappen expressed after the race.
