There will be improvements for cyclists, walkers and emergency services on the southwest side of Amersfoort. The current city council previously canceled the much-discussed plan for a western ring road, but in the meantime an alternative plan aimed at cyclists is being considered. Part of this is a bicycle tunnel under the level crossing at Barchman Wuytierslaan, which emergency services can also use.
