Wellness rush in the middle days: “It’s the busiest”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Malin Asplund, owner of Spahuset, says that in the days between, many people realize that it is time to redeem the year’s wellness allowance. The realization results in queues at the salon. To cope with the heavy pressure, they are extra open online until midnight on New Year’s Eve.

– These are the funnest days of the whole year. It is at its busiest and many people realize after Christmas, when they are off in the middle days, that they have health care to redeem, says Malin Asplund.

According to the company Benify, which works with employee benefits, only 55 percent use the grant, according to 2019 statistics.

Some cheat

According to the law, you cannot use all types of treatment. For example, beauty treatments are not included in the agreement. An audit conducted by SVT in November was able to reveal widespread cheating with the health care allowance, where salons print fake receipts that people then send in as health care.

Malin Asplund says that she is careful not to cheat. Every year, customers come in who want to buy products or have beauty treatments for the wellness grant. But she believes that it is mainly due to ignorance.

– We explain what applies, many do not know. The employer may not have explained, or that they have not read what applies, but it is usually; Oh, I thought I could pay for it, she says.
