In the middle of the quarter-final between Argentina and the Netherlands, American sports journalist Grant Wahl had a heart attack. He received CPR and was taken to hospital, but his life could not be saved.
The news of the death comes just weeks after Grant Wahl attracted widespread attention on social media after being stopped and detained after trying to enter the USA v Wales game wearing a rainbow shirt.
