Welcome 66, the association that teaches migrants to swim

The fight against the tiger mosquito in France

In Perpignan, the Welcome 66 association offers swimming lessons to asylum seekers from the Pyrénées-Orientales to combat their trauma. Since the beginning of the summer and until mid-September, volunteers have been welcoming migrants from Afghanistan, Mauritania and even Rwanda, who have often gone through painful times to reach France.

Welcome 66 hopes to continue swimming lessons throughout the year in the pools, but for the moment, no preferential rate has been granted to them by the town hall of Perpignan.
