Tenerife-born Acorán Hernández won two bronze medals on Tuesday in the category of up to 67 kilos at the European Weightlifting Championships, which are being held in Tirana (Turkey). With these two medals, Spain now has eight in this edition after one gold and two silver medals for José Brachi from Seville in -55 kilos, and the silver and two bronzes for María Giménez Guervós from Cáceres in -49.
Acorán Hernández, 31, was third in the snatch with 138 kilos and in the total, with 299. In two times he did not win a prize with 161 kilos. They are his first medals in some absolute Europeans. The Georgian Shota Mishvelidze, 27 years old and European champion in 2018, won the gold in the snatch with 142 kilos, while the Bulgarian Valentin Genchez, 22 years old, won in two stages (175) and in the total (314) to add his first continental titles.
