The Ghostface killer is up to mischief again and doesn’t stop at the city limits of Woodsboro. Because in Scream 6 takes the slasher series to New York City.

Now the first teaser trailer for the horror sequel has been released, in which Scream 4 legend Hayden Panettiere returns alongside Wednesday star Jenna Ortega.

What is the latest installment in the horror film series about?

In Scream aka Scream 5, half-sisters Sam (Melissa Barrera) and Tara Carpenter (Jenna Ortega) survive Ghostface’s murderous return. In the sequel, she and twins Chad (Mason Gooding) and Mindy Meeks (Jasmin Savoy Brown) set out to start a new life in the Big Apple. However, Ghostface’s trail of blood follows them all the way to New York. The terror of Woodsboro, as we’ve known since the LA adventure in Scream 3, isn’t something you just shake off.

The sixth part of the series will be again Meeting of the horror generations, but without the ultimate scream queen. Sidney Prescott actress Neve Campbell canceled in advance because she was dissatisfied with the fee offered.

We do, however, reunite with TV host Gayle Weathers (Courteney Cox) and fan favorite Kirby Reed (Hayden Panettiere), who impressed in Scream 4 with her knowledge of the horror genre. New to the cast are Ready or Not star Samara Weaving and Spider-Man co-star Tony Revolori.

When will Scream 6 be in cinemas?

The latest Ghostface bloodbath starts on March 9, 2023 in German cinemas. Directed again by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who broke through with Weaving and Ready or Not before tackling Scream 5. The writing team is also the same as the last entry in the long-running horror series: James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick came up with NYC getaway.
