(Telestock) – Webuildthe Italian construction and engineering giant, has announced that it has been Excavation of North East Link (NEL) tunnels begins with two giant TBMsthe largest motorway link project ever undertaken in Melbourne, Australia. The project involves Webuild, as part of the Spark joint venture, in the design and construction of approximately 6.5 km of twin three-lane tunnels and associated works, under the north-eastern suburbs of the city.
Once the assembly phase is complete, the two TBMs will begin excavating at an average speed of about 10 meters per day, reaching depths of up to 45 meters, a statement reads.
