A British weather slick is making its way across the country.
TV4’s meteorologist Johan Lundberg describes the whole thing as awkward.
– Here we will probably experience a grand triple with large amounts of snow, wet precipitation that generates slippery conditions and windy east winds, he says.
It is cold in more or less the whole country. The snow remains in several places, and during Friday a snowstorm caused traffic problems. Among other things, several trucks were stuck and trains were cancelled. During the weekend the weather stabilizes somewhat.
– The weather this weekend will be relatively calm, but snow flurries are expected in above all Götaland and the mountain areas. In addition, it will be really cold in northern Norrland, where it can locally be experienced as colder than minus 30 degrees, says TV4’s meteorologist Johan Lundberg.
Then the low pressure will come to Sweden
Already on Monday, a new low pressure moves in over Sweden from Great Britain – something that starts in the British Isles already during Saturday.
– Today, an area of heavy snowfall and rain is also moving in over Great Britain and Ireland, which both Great Britain’s and Ireland’s weather services are warning about, says Johan Lundberg.
When will this come to Sweden?
– This area with abundant snowfall then moves in over southern and central Sweden during Epiphany and Epiphany. It changes to rain over Götaland and Svealand. Here we will probably experience a grand triple with large amounts of snow, wet precipitation that generates slippery and windy east winds, difficult weather in other words. So we can probably expect the occasional warning from SMHI.
During Tuesday, the abundant snowfall continues northward, where there will probably also be large amounts of snow. The low pressure that moves in is expected to affect almost the entire country.
