It has started to blow heavily in large parts of Sweden. SMHI has issued a yellow warning for very strong winds in northern Götaland from Thursday evening.

“It is in the northern parts of Götaland and nearby areas in southern Svealand, mainly up towards the Örebro tract, that the wind can cause it a little more,” says Sofia Söderbergmeteorologist at SMHI.

— There can be very strong wind gusts of between 21 and 23 meters per second. Along the west coast there may be locally stormy villages.

SMHI: Anchor loose objects

According to SMHI, there is a risk that roads will be blocked by fallen trees and that public transport will be affected by delays or canceled departures.

It can also be good to think about how it looks at home in the garden.

“It can be about anchoring and securing loose objects such as a trampoline or garden furniture,” says Sofia Söderberg.

The yellow warning currently applies until 9 o’clock on Friday morning, but it is expected to continue to be windy well into Friday.
