Laurier Brantford’s inaugural Winter’s a Drag event will be moving indoors on Wednesday night.
Organizers said the event, originally planned to held outdoors at Brantford’s Harmony Square, now will be held at the Sanderson Centre.
The move was made because of a weather forecast that is calling for periods of rain and freezing rain.
Funded by the Laurier Student Life Levy, the event is billed as a celebration of talent and self-expression, and will feature a photo booth, glow furniture and a drag show spotlighting five performers from Vision Drag Artists.
Winter’s a Drag will be the first public in-person event mounted by the Brantford campus since the beginning of the global pandemic.
Doors will open at 7:15 pm and the performances will begin at 8 pm
Admission is free and seating will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The first guests to arrive will receive a free piece of Laurier gear and hot chocolate, while quantities last.
Prizes will be awarded throughout the evening, including gift cards to select downtown Brantford businesses.
