The Roland-Garros tournament has been disrupted by rain since the start of the week, forecasts
Like every year, the Roland-Garros tournament is subject to weather conditions which greatly disrupt the progress of the French Open near Porte d’Auteuil. For several years, the Philippe Chatrier court has had a roof, which allows for a minimum of matches every day, including the night session which begins around 8:15 p.m. New for 2024, the Suzanne-Lenglen court now has a roof, which makes it possible to increase the number of matches on a daily basis and offer a minimum of spectacle for spectators and television viewers.
But for the other courts, unfortunately, the rain completely disrupts the program and this has been the case since the beginning of the fortnight. According to the French weather forecast, rain is likely to be very frequent in the coming days. “There will be some rain in the form of showers from Sunday until Tuesday,” explains Patrick Marlière, meteorologist for Agate-Météo quoted by Le Parisien. “From Wednesday to next Saturday, the rain will not be very intense, but continues. There will be a need to interrupt matches.”
The weather for this Tuesday, May 28 at Roland-Garros
According to forecasts, rain is likely to fall almost all day at Roland-Garros. The “clearings” are forecast around 4 p.m.
