With summer comes the heat – and lightly dressed men at work.
The question of shorts as work clothes is always relevant this year.
– No at work in general, says journalist Jörgen Huitfeldt in Efter fem.
This year it was the columnist Ida Söderberg who i The evening paper started the debate about whether men in shorts in the workplace is ok or not.
Not, if Söderberg is to be believed:
“In public spaces we can dress up, right? All of them. Not because it is so sensual with all skin that it is not possible to defend yourself – but rather the opposite. There is nothing more unsexy than the collective baring of bleak winter skins that takes place roughly halfway between the hawthorn and the lilac.”
Focus on erotic attractiveness
Opinions about whether the garment should or should not be at work differ a little on the panel in Sunday’s After Five.
– If it’s 30 degrees, I think you can wear shorts. You don’t have to constantly focus on your erotic attractiveness, says journalist Lennart Ekdal.
Journalist Vesna Prekopic objects that it depends on the profession.
– Depending on what job you have. I think the viewers would have demanded your resignation if you had stood here in a pair of bermuda shorts, she says to the presenter Axel Pileby.
“Looks sloppy”
Journalist Jörgen Huitfeldt also believes that the profession matters.
– No at work in general, unless you work in a warehouse. But if you meet customers and so on. I think it looks sloppy, he says.
