Police are continuing their investigation after responding to a weapons-related call in Norwich on Sunday afternoon.

Oxford OPP, OPP West Region Emergency Response Team and West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit responded at about 4:30 pm after receiving a report of a weapons incident on Dufferin Street.
Oxford OPP reported an increased police presence in the area of Dufferin St. and Sunview Drive. At the time, members of the public were asked to avoid the area.
At shortly after 7 pm Sunday, police posted a ‘cleared advisory’ on social media saying “the majority of police resources cleared the Dufferin St. area in Norwich. Ongoing investigation continues.” Police also thanked members of the public for their understanding.
