Israel has lost 47 of its soldiers after invading Lebanon.
Six Israeli soldiers were killed in fighting in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, the country’s army says. The number is the highest per day since Israel began its ground attack at the end of September.
In total, Israel has lost 47 soldiers since invading Lebanon.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said earlier on Wednesday that the fight against the Hezbollah extremist organization will continue relentlessly.
– We will not agree to cease-fires, we will not take our foot off the gas, Katz told commanders during a visit to northern Israel on the border with Lebanon.
– We will also not allow arrangements that do not include our war goals. We are hitting Hezbollah everywhere, he continued.
Air raid sirens sounded again in central and northern Israel on Wednesday. According to the Israeli army, the cause was ammunition from Lebanon, some of which was dropped by anti-aircraft.
Hezbollah said it fired ballistic missiles at the headquarters of the Israeli army in Tel Aviv and from a weapons factory on the outskirts of Tel Aviv.
