Venezuelan opposition presidential candidate Edmundo González Urrutia swears that the fight for his country’s democracy will continue.
The 75-year-old opposition leader says in an audio message released by his team that he is confident that the fight for the restoration of freedom and democracy in Venezuela will continue soon.
González Urrutia arrived in Spain on Sunday, where he has been promised political asylum.
The presidential candidate is convinced that he was the real winner of Venezuela’s elections held at the end of July.
A warrant was issued for his arrest a week ago.
