Pierre Palmade will be tried in a few months in Melun, in Seine-et-Marne, for unintentional injuries in the car accident which occurred on February 10, 2023.
Soon the end of a procedure that has lasted for a year and a half. Pierre Palmade will soon be tried before the criminal court for unintentional injuries in the car accident that occurred on February 10, 2023. According to information from BFM TV, the trial will take place on November 20, 2024 in Melun, in Seine-et-Marne.
Pierre Palmade is accused of being responsible for the car accident that left three people seriously injured, including a six-year-old child and a pregnant woman who ultimately lost her baby. The first elements of this highly publicized investigation revealed that the comedian was under the influence of drugs at the time of the collision of the two vehicles. The comedian, for his part, saw his life in danger for a time, before he was taken care of for a stroke fifteen days after the accident.
For a time, the question of whether Pierre Palmade would be tried for involuntary manslaughter was pending, since a pregnant woman lost her unborn baby after the accident. Ultimately, the qualification was not required by the prosecution, because a case law of the Court of Cassation stipulates that a child who is not born does not exist as a person, and therefore cannot be considered a victim of homicide. The medical expertise had concluded that the baby of the pregnant passenger had died before birth.
According to information from franceinfoPierre Palmade still faces a sentence of 14 years in prison and a fine of 200,000 euros because he was already convicted of drug use in 2019, and would therefore be a repeat offender.
