“We have chosen to act”

Frölunda strengthens the goalkeeper side with a qualified Finn.

Frans Tuohimaawith gold from both the Olympics and the WC last year in the prize cabinet, will play ice hockey with the Gothenburgers for the rest of the season.
“We have chosen to act and are bringing in an experienced goalkeeper who can support Lasse Johansson,” says Frölunda’s sporting director Fredrik Sjöström to the SHL club’s website.

Frölunda also writes that they are trying to find a solution for Frederik Dichow who are in need of playing time, but for the time being they will have three goalkeepers in the squad.

32-year-old Tuohimaa lands in Gothenburg in the middle of the week.
“I may not be spectacular, but positionally secure, calm and relatively fast,” he says ahead of his third stay in Sweden.

In the 2015/16 season, Tuohimaa played with Leksand in the hockey Allsvenskan and at the end of last season there were four SHL matches and one playoff match for Skellefteå.
