Want a spring getaway in a European capital full of charm? Let yourself be tempted by this destination with a thousand treasures, where history is everywhere and where the prices are very fun.
It is a city in the heart of Europe, a capital whose destiny could garnish more than one book of stories. Its cobbled alleys attract thousands of tourists each year like its rich architecture and its varied and colorful neighborhoods. Good news, spring arrives and it is particularly attractive, with pleasant temperatures which can reach 20 degrees in April-May. It is therefore the ideal moment to stroll through animated places, linger in bohemian cafes and discover the hidden gems of this magic city.
Have you guessed? This is Prague! Nicknamed “The city with 100 bell towers”, Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, invites you to a timeless journey. Its famous Charles bridge majestically spans the Vltava, offering a breathtaking view of the castle which dominates the city. The Saint-Guy cathedral also impresses with its size and stained glass. In the historic district, the small tortuous streets are full of artisan shops and art galleries.

But Prague is not frozen in the past. Behind her beautiful asleep airs hides a resolutely modern and cosmopolitan city. The old industrial zones were gradually transformed into trendy creative poles, attracting youth. And that’s not all! Prague is also known to be a paradise for beer lovers. Cradle of the Pilsner and the Original Budweiser, the city is full of craft brasseries and warm ads where to taste a “foam” at low prices … in moderation of course! Because this is another major asset of the Czech capital: its cost of living much more affordable than in other European metropolises.
We can eat there for a few euros, if we take the trouble to avoid some addresses-tourist addresses. Krčma, in the heart of the old town and the Jewish district, thus serves an unbeatable midday menu with soup and dish at only 160 Czech crowns (about 6 to 7 euros!). Tlustá Myš in the Malá Strana district, does even better with a soup at 2 euros and dishes at 6 euros. For more gastronomy, the Mlynec restaurant at the foot of the famous Charles bridge will also delight gourmets or those looking for a romantic evening meal. Its brunch has also recently become an institution in Prague, decidedly the ideal city for an exotic weekend at a low price.
