“Last year, I expanded my responsibilities as President of the Samsung Mobile Experience Business Unit, leading our Corporate Design Center. Through my engineering career, I realized that cutting-edge designs are intertwined with technological innovations. This new responsibility allows me to delve deeper into how synergy of design, engineering and R&D can provide transformative experiences. Together with my designer friends, I began to delve deeper into Samsung’s design strategy to understand our roots and predict our growth. Samsung adopted its philosophy in 1996: “Shaping the future by being inspired by people.” The products we create are designed with a deep understanding of you, our users, and we maintain our belief that a user-oriented approach is the key to the future. Users value meaningful communication and simple achievements more than raw technological merits. So we’ve transformed the Samsung design philosophy into three Design Identities, each with you at the center: Our Products based, Innovator And Compatible should be.
