On Saturday, September 9th, 2023, there was a big football match between gaming streamers in London: the Sidemen Charity Match 2023. The star of Twitch, Félix “xQc” Lengyel, and the YouTube stars IShowSpeed were also there and MrBeast. There were many hours of viewing and several million euros in money, but also some strange scenes.

The straddle of death catches MrBeast
This is what happened to MrBeast: The well-known YouTube star MrBeast (25) met “IShowspeed” (18) right at the beginning of the match.
The young and hot-headed streamer is athletic and a football enthusiast, but doesn’t really have any skills with the ball.
IShowspeed straddled the tripping MrBeast so hard that he still had knee pain the day after.

This is what happened to IShowSpeed: In addition to the blood straddle, IShowSpeed stood out for his high effort and strong athleticism, but he consistently messed up as soon as he had the ball at his feet.
Again and again he put the ball far in front of him and sprinted past opponents, only to quickly lose the ball to the next defender. IShowspeed also revealed weaknesses in the rules: During the half-time break, someone had to explain the offside rules to him.
The 18-year-old American had his “lowest point” when he self-confidently grabbed the ball for a penalty, missed miserably and had to listen to “Siuuu” from his friend KSI – that’s so bitter for IShowspeed because who is a passionate Ronaldo fan.
In the end, however, IShowspeed got a 7.6 in the evaluation, which was one of the strongest ratings in his team. KaiCenat /6.3) and JiDion (3.8) performed significantly worse. But faring worse than them was the biggest Twitch star on the field: xQc.
xQc has to go into the goal and gets an extremely bad rating
This is what happened to xQc: They put the poor Canadian, who is already accused of having posture problems from all the reacting and streaming, with minimal training in the goal, where he conceded 8 goals and looked unhappy.
He received a disastrous rating of 0.9 in a rating from a football site.
But his fans defended him: it was great that he played at all.
He had only started training 3 days beforehand, and the defense was also terrible, so it wasn’t his fault.
xQc has now proudly secured his “football grade 0.9” (something like a 6) as a professional photo on Twitter. By the way, the opposing goalkeeper KSI, who was able to score points with his athleticism, came off significantly better than xQc.
Overall the match was a complete success. The players felt excited after the game.
The differences in performance between the individual players were extremely clear. To put it bluntly: streamers who grew up in North America generally looked significantly worse than English people who had been exposed to football from an early age.
In the end, Manny, a 27-year-old YouTuber from Great Britain, was celebrated as the star of the game. Specialty: FIFA. He scored a hat trick for MrBeast’s team.
