We are taking the war to Russia

On Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented for the first time on the Ukrainian offensive against the Russian region of Kursk, reports AFP.
According to Zelenskyj, the offensive is a way to “move the war into the territory of the aggressor”.

In his daily address to the nation, the Ukrainian president commented on the offensive against the Russian region of Kursk for the first time.

Zelenskyy said, among other things, that the offensive is a way to “move the war into the territory of the aggressor”.

The statement comes after Russia evacuated thousands of people from the Kursk region. According to Russian media, over 76,000 people have been evacuated from Kursk.

Ongoing battles

The Russian Defense Ministry says 26 drones have been shot down over the Kursk region while sending more forces to the area. According to the ministry, fighting is ongoing in the region.

It was on Tuesday that the border with Russia’s western Kursk region was stormed. By all accounts, it is the largest counter-offensive by the Ukrainian side on Russian soil since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

As a result of Ukraine’s offensive, Russia is reinforcing in several regions near the border with Ukraine and has launched what the Kremlin calls an “anti-terrorist operation”, in the Kursk, Bryansk and Belgorod regions.
