Many gamers are particularly dissatisfied with the condition of some AAA games. Skull and Bones has struggled with criticism, while the developers of Baldur’s Gate 3 have been showered with praise.
“If we don’t do something, we haven’t found the right way”
What does the Sony dev say? In a brief conversation, Russell explained that no one in the games industry comes to work with the goal of making people angry. On the contrary: “We want to give the fans everything, but we can’t,” said Russell.
Everything is difficult. And if we haven’t done something, it’s because we haven’t yet figured out the right way to do it.

The developer goes on to say that deadlines must be met and resources are limited. Sometimes you miss the mark, but it’s never for a lack of effort, says Russell. “We are human, like everyone else,” explains the developer.
However, criticism can also have a positive effect – as long as it is expressed constructively and does not degenerate into insults or even threats. For example, the developers of the new survival game Nightingale showed that they listen to their players and fulfilled their greatest wish:
