Baarn – A corpse, a cheating politician and a waiter who is not clean on the bone. These are some of the ingredients of the farce ‘Motion of disorder’ that theater group Karakter from Baarn is staging for its 50th anniversary. At a time when club life is under pressure, Karakter is flourishing as ever. Actor Wim Rottier: “Everyone used to talk about it, you can see it diluting, but the funny thing is that about five or six years before corona you suddenly saw an increase at Karakter, with many young people as well. The mutual connection, that’s where theater plays still plays a major role in it. It stops loneliness. There are elderly people who still find a lot of fun and social contact at Karakter, and also young people who have a lot of contact with each other. Theater and also an association in itself is very important for a place like Baarn.’
