Linn Persson exceeded all expectations during the Biathlon World Cup.
But the time after has been tough for the Swedish WC hero.
Now comes the 28-year-old’s first message after the operation.
The season is over and Lynn Persson can sum up the very best season of his career so far as a biathlete. The Swede has had great success at the World Cup and in the Biathlon World Cup.
Before the season, the 28-year-old had only managed a single individual podium at the World Cup, and that came in December 2019. Now Linn can proudly show off two individual podiums and two in the relay from this year’s season.

Even in the WC context, Persson had only won medals in the relay and nothing individually before the WC in Oberhof. The Swede then exceeded all expectations in Germany by taking as many as three World Cup medals, with silver in the distance race and double bronze in the sprint and relay.

On Wednesday, the Swedish WC hero underwent surgery and now she opens up for the first time.
– I still feel good, I have taken it very easy today and yesterday. I slept an extra hour in the morning so now I’m probably a bit more alert so it will be a few quiet days ahead for me, says Linn in an interview with Radiosporten.
– There were peepholes and then they put a net in the groin. I understood it as a fairly simple and small procedure.

Considering that the biathlon season is over, it was a golden opportunity for the Swede to carry out the operation so that she will come back in full condition for the next season.
– I expect to be out for about a month to six weeks, maybe eight weeks before full training. So now I think it’s quite nice not to have to do so much. It feels like there has been something there and that you got something in the groin. So at the moment I don’t feel any stress at all, she admits in the radio interview.
