That Morocco would be in a semi-final against France itself could have been predicted by very few – if anyone. They have already been the WC’s biggest surprise – but they are far from satisfied. After victory against both Spain and Portugal during the final game, the entire nation has come together to take their national team all the way to the final and gold.
Before the match against France, Morocco will have a weakened back line. Believe it or not – but Morocco have achieved all this with a high rotation of the back line due to injuries. They have nevertheless been fortunate to retain key players such as Hakimi and Aiyech throughout the tournament.
On the French side, Mbappé and Giroud are two players who have really started. This opens up a match that will be dominated by France.
