Waze is now a standalone downloadable app that can run on a car infotainment screen, no phone required. Vehicles that come with built-in Google will receive the app directly, which was first introduced by Renault’s Austral Hybrid and Megane E-Techwill be made available in .
The Waze app will have the usual, full functionality such as real-time guidance, navigation and alerts, settings, preferences, and saved places, and will dock on the car’s screen.
To access the app, you can easily download the Waze for OpenR link directly on Renault vehicles from Google Play or from the My Renault mobile app. You can create a new Waze account or use an existing Waze account for navigation.
And Waze says it will bring the standalone app to other users and brands in 2023. Naturally, Waze is also available for Android Auto and Apple Car Play systems.
