The De Stichtse Rijnlanden Water Board, which is responsible for the dike reinforcement, says it does indeed measure and keep track of whether damage is caused by the work on the dike. “This includes zero assessments of all plots and buildings,” says the water board. “We also install monitoring equipment at owners whose properties are within the sphere of influence of the work. The environmental manager is the point of contact for the owners, he or she answers questions and provides owners with relevant information.”
