Moles are more common in people with fair skin and blue-green eyes, those with yellow-red hair, people with a tendency to freckles, and skin types that can burn easily in the sun. Moles are divided into two according to the time of their appearance: those that are present since birth and those that appear later. Congenital moles may start as brown spots, and over time, these spots appear on the bumps. There may be thick hairs on these moles. Their size may increase with age. Congenital moles that cover more than 5 percent of the body have a higher risk of developing cancer.

Some changes in the structure of moles should raise suspicion of cancer. These changes can be listed as follows: Change in the color structure: darkening of a light-colored mole, a red-black color change, an increase in the size of the mole, the irregularity of its edges, itching on the mole, the appearance of bleeding on the moles and the opening of wounds in these cases, the existing mole should be removed without losing time. .
