Waste Mite ranking of the Mangiaplastica Program published

It was published on the website of the Ministry of Ecological Transition the ranking of projects admitted to financing of the “Mangiaplastica Program”, approved with a decree of 27 January.

Sixteen million euros have been allocated for 2021 for the beneficiaries of the contribution, that is the Municipalities, which will thus be able to reduce plastic waste. The implementation of the “Plastic Eater” decree, signed last September from Minister of Ecological Transition Roberto Cingolani. A provision with which the Ministry of Ecological Transition had promoted the purchase of eco-compactors by municipal administrations through the provision of ad hoc financing.

From January 31 – Mite says in a note – it reopens desk of the Mangiaplastica Experimental Program to which the Municipalities will be able to apply for a contribution for the purchase of eco-compactors, machinery for the separate collection of PET beverage bottles, capable of selectively recognizing this type of bottles and reducing their volume, favoring their recycling in a circular economy perspective.

The Mangiaplastica program finances the purchase of one eco-compactor for every 100,000 inhabitants to the municipalities. In particular, each municipality can receive a contribution of: 15 thousand euros for eco-compactors of medium capacity; 30 thousand euros for high-capacity eco-compactors. There budget allocated for 2022 is 5 million euros. The measure also provides additional resources for the years 2023 and 2024.

Municipalities can present the grant requests from January 31, 2022 to March 31, 2022 exclusively through the Invitalia PA Digitale IT platform. Requests are evaluated by the Mite, according to the criteria identified by the implementing decree of the Program, based on the chronological order of presentation. The benefit will be paid to the municipalities deemed eligible until the funds available for the year 2022 are exhausted
