With the return of summer, there are also a few minor inconveniences that return. And among them: wasps. Their bites are at least very painful so to get rid of a nest, it is better to take a few precautions.

In the summer, we all like to enjoy the heat from Sun tasting a good melon with Bayonne ham. And there… a wasp! It is usually about Vespula vulgaris, the common wasp. She loves fruit and sugar. But the main problem is its sting, which allows it to sting several times, unlike its cousin thebee that dies when it stings.
Before you go after the wasp, however, remember that it has a role to play in our ecosystem. It is for example insectivorous, and in fact, actively participates in the non-proliferation of certain pests in our gardens. And the wasp also appreciates the nectar of flowers. It helps in their pollination.
The problem, for us, remains that the wasp tends to defend itself quite virulently. Her sting can be very painful for the victim and even, in some cases, lead to death, especially when the latter turns out to be allergic to wasp stings.
solutions against wasps
To avoid disappointments, be aware that the wasp nests are often found high up: under the attic or gutters, sometimes in the trees or even in a trunk. But you can also find them in low walls or on the ground. And the first question to ask yourself before looking for a way to get rid of it is whether or not it is at a safe distance from your lifestyle. If so, why not leave the wasps alone? You shouldn’t disturb them on a daily basis, so they shouldn’t be tempted to attack you. At the end of autumn, the nest will empty and it will be time to remove it.
On the other hand, if the nest represents a danger for you – because it is too close to your home or too big -, you must get rid of it. And for that, the best thing is to call on the professionals. Because they have both the equipment – safety equipment and suitable products – and the experience necessary to overcome them without damage.
And the precautions to take
If you want to act on your own, be extremely careful. Cover yourself beforehand with long and thick clothes, gloves and a beekeeper hat. Wasps, once disturbed, will indeed attack and it is better to be protected from their stings. Among the possible solutions: long-distance insecticides. Their jet can reach several meters and they want to be lightning. However, wait until evening to act and the nest is idling or better still, it is asleep. And above all, do not miss your target…
However, do not burn the wasp nest. Although it is very flammable and the temptation can be great. You risk putting the fire to your home or garden. But above all, to see a certain number of wasps, having survived, being particularly aggressive. Also avoid the (very bad) idea of drowning the nest or destroying it with a baseball bat or racket.
