A man in Halland died after receiving the correct diagnosis too late. Now the incident is reported according to lex Maria to the Inspectorate for Care and Care, Ivo.
The man sought emergency care when one of his legs did not obey him, but the investigation that was carried out could not establish a diagnosis. However, the pain increased to the point that he could not support himself, and he was forced to move to a residence.
Later, the man suffered from extensive wounds and it turned out that he had severe vascular disease. The disease had then progressed to such an extent that the man died.
The incident is now reported by the Public Health Service Halland.
“Since many clinics and care units have been involved in the case, it is difficult to find individual reasons why it could go so badly. The report is made to identify if there are gaps in the processing and to review the communication routes,” says Magnus Garell, chief physician at the Nursing Home Halland, in a press release.
