The statement, which recalled the previous warning “not to travel to Lebanon”, also reiterated the advice to French citizens currently in Lebanon to “be extremely careful” and to regularly follow the website of the French Consulate General in Beirut.
TENSION IS AT ITS HIGHEST STAGE IN THE REGION
Fuad Shukur, one of Hezbollah’s top commanders, was killed in an attack by the Israeli army in Beirut on July 30.
Hamas Political Bureau Chairman Ismail Haniyeh was also assassinated in Tehran, the capital of Iran, on July 31.
While Iran and Hamas state that Israel was behind the attack, the Tel Aviv administration continues to remain silent about this assassination.
Israel, which has been continuing its attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, is also clashing with Lebanese Hezbollah on its northern border.
