Those traveling by train at Easter can expect a lot of delays and traffic jams. The Swedish Transport Administration’s own press manager says so Bengt Olsson flagged for in an interview with Sweden’s radio.

There are a total of nine track works that will take place during the Easter weekend. These include repairs to switches that will begin on Sweden’s railways.
Primarily, it is the train traffic in western Sweden that will be affected.

The reason why all this work takes place at Easter is because of the temperature, according to Bengt Olsson.
– In southern and western Sweden, the temperatures outside have become more favorable to be able to start the track work, he says to P4 Gothenburg.

Several trains will have longer journey times or be canceled entirely and replaced by buses.
– If we can work coherently, it is better to do a little longer work where we can get machines and staffing up and later focus on the traffic, says Bengt Olsson at the Swedish Transport Administration to P4.
