Now there are new warnings for substantial amounts of rain and the risk of flooding.
– There can be as much rain in just over as it normally does in the whole month of August, says meteorologist Peter Kondrup.

– Large parts of the country are covered by this warning. It is from Götaland and all the way up over Svealand to the south and central Norrland, says meteorologist Peter Kondrup and continues:
– We are talking about amounts between 50 and 100 millimeters, but locally more.
In just over a day, these amounts of rain can come, which the meteorologist pointed out normally comes in a whole month.

Risk of flooding
The warning for precipitation currently applies to approximately three quarters of the country.
– It may very well happen when we get a little closer in time that it is concentrated in fewer and smaller areas, but at the moment it is difficult to say where the large quantities will come from. Therefore, SMHI has issued this warning for such a large area, says the meteorologist.
The large amounts of rain can cause problems in the form of floods.
– This can have consequences such as water-filled basements, viaducts, roads and the risk of aquaplaning in traffic. Rain can cause a lot of problems, says Peter Kondrup.
He emphasizes, however, that there is an uncertainty in the forecast that is for a few days ahead.
