War opponents in Sweden are hanged by Russian war bloggers: “You will all be held accountable”

On a large number of Russian online newspapers, Telegram channels and other Russian social media, Russian opponents of the war in Sweden are now being attacked. Those designated are posted with name, photo, social media accounts and information about their background. In some cases there is information about the spouse. At the same time, direct and indirect threats are directed at the people.

“Big surprises await lost activists in the near future,” writes the pro-regime site Tsargrad.tv.

“National traitors, fifth columnists,” it says on a telegram channel.

Protesting the war

The victims are Russians living in Sweden and members of the Swedish Anti-War Committee, which works for a democratic Russia and organizes protests against the war in Ukraine.

But Tsargrad.tv described the members as potential “terrorists” and “collaborators” with foreign intelligence services.

“Ammunition and weapons bought with donations from the participants of this emigrant movement are used to kill our own mobilized brothers and fathers,” writes the author of the article.

“Not safe to leave the apartment”

One of those attacked is Olesia Volkova, who lives in Stockholm and is involved in the Anti-War Committee.

– I am beginning to feel that it is not safe to leave the apartment. But I have to do it. I’m trying to process these feelings, that it doesn’t mean someone is out there waiting for me. But I am more careful and observant.

During Friday, the group will jointly report the incident to the police.
