Both sides in the war in Sudan committed to protecting civilians in Geneva last week before the US mediator and special envoy Tom Periello, but these commitments, like those made earlier in Jeddah, have not yet been respected. The abuses committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continue as if nothing had happened and the army’s airstrikes also affect Sudanese civilians.
