The prosecutor, who wants riot pictures from Rosengård, taken by photographers working for eight Swedish media companies, is appealing to the Court of Appeal. In the Malmö district court, the decision was no.

The pictures were taken during unrest that started after a Koran was burned in Malmö in September. Prosecutor Henrik Nordquist wants access to all filmed and photographed material, but the media companies have refused citing source protection and the fact that it threatens journalistic independence. The prosecutor writes in a press release that there is a great public interest in having the matter investigated.
