Due to lack of time or resources, you may not have the opportunity to freshen up your haircut this month. Did you know that there are a few easy tips to put in place to space out your hair appointments? Here are four.
This back-to-school season, you may have planned to go to the hairdresser. And then due to lack of time or means, you finally cancelled your appointment. Did you know that spacing out your hairdressing sessions can be beneficial for your hair? All you need to do is take good care of it, to keep your hair beautiful for longer. Here’s how to do it.
Space out your shampoos
The first thing to do is not to wash your hair too often. Some people, especially those with short hair, will have the reflex to wash it daily, every time they take a shower. This will have the effect of depriving the hair of its natural oil and making it drier or even brittle. Washing your hair twice a week is more than enough.
Provide nourishing care
Precisely, to maintain your hair mass, nothing beats nourishing treatments. Masks, oils and other leave-in treatments will be your best allies to keep your hair as hydrated as possible. This helps prevent split ends and damaged hair, which will inevitably need to be cut.
Avoid heating devices as much as possible
Are you spacing out your shampoos and nourishing your hair? Don’t ruin all your efforts by using heating appliances, such as hair dryers or hair straighteners. When used occasionally and with serums that protect the hair fiber, they do not damage the hair (too much). On the other hand, when you use them to dry and straighten your hair after each shampoo, be careful of damage! Favor techniques that do not use heat to take care of your hair.
Use touch-up sprays
Finally, if you have colored hair, leaving your roots too visible will make your hair look unkempt. So you can’t put off your hair appointment? Well, you can, by using a root touch-up spray. This is a temporary solution, of course, but it allows you to cover your gray hair and postpone your next appointment by a few weeks!
