Congress Member Brandon Gills “Golden Act of 2025” – In which he proposes that all hundreds of forms from 2029 be adorned with Donald Trump’s face – is one in the line of letters to the congress with suggestions for ways to pay tribute to the 47th president.
Since Trump was sworn in for his second term in January, five letters have been submitted where the proposals include ideas such as making Trump’s birthday a national holiday or renaming the Dulles airport in Washington after him.
There is also a suggestion to put Trump’s face next to George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln on the Mount Rushmore monument, reports Politico.
“Believe in a golden era for the United States”
According to the site, the desire to perpetuate a living president in this way like this way in history.
Although none of the proposals are expected to become a reality, the site writes that it says some about how far some Republicans are prepared to go to honor the president.
– We must show that Congress supports the president, and that we believe in what he wants to achieve. We believe in a golden era for the US, and I think my suggestion is a great way to show support for it, says Brandon Gill.
“He took a bullet for us”
Congress member Addison McDowell from North Carolina agrees with her colleague:
– He took a bullet for us. They tried to throw him in jail. He is someone who never gives up, and he will save this country.
However, the proposals do not lack critics – David Greenberg, historian at Rutger University – thinks it is more reasonable to wait for this type of tribute.
– I was not a big fan of the cult wars (Ronald) Reagan either, but he won at least two elections completely superior. With Trump it feels almost perverse.
