A Walpole Island resident faces multiple charges after a weapons investigation, provincial police say.

On Aug. 29, Lambton OPP, Walpole Island First Nation police and OPP West Region tactics and rescue and emergency response officers searched a River Road address, seizing firearms, ammunition, prohibited weapons, suspected fentanyl, and other items, an OPP release said.
A Walpole Island man, 60, faces two counts each of assault with a weapon, possessing fentanyl for trafficking fentanyl, carelessly using a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, possessing a prohibited or restricted firearm without authorization, and carelessly storing a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, police said.
He also face single counts of uttering threats, using a firearm while committing an offense, break, enter and commit an unspeakable offense and possessing a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, and five counts of failing to comply with a release order, police said

The accused was remanded into custody after a bail hearing in Sarnia. police said.
Man charged after business break-ins
A man faces charges after a series of commercial break-ins, Chatham-Kent police say.
In August, the municipality a significant increase in these incidents, Chatham-Kent police stated.
Police launched a crackdown after a significant jump in commercial break-ins last month. police said. An extensive investigation, incorporating video analysis, witness interviews and other investigative techniques identified one primary suspect.
A suspect was arrested Aug. 31, police said.
A Chatham-Kent man, 43, is charged with 11 counts of break and enter, nine counts of possessing stolen property, and one count of possessing a controlled substance, police said. He was remanded into custody after a bail hearing.
The investigation into the other unidentified suspects continues, police said.
