It could just as well have been gold for the Swede in Sunday’s parallel hump piste final against the Canadian Mikael Kingsbury.
In terms of time, the duo were side by side down the entire hill and at the finish Wallberg had to see himself beaten by just five hundredths.
The Swede was awarded 16 points, Kingsbury 19.
— It felt good, it was incredibly smooth, I was right next to him so I hardly saw his skis. That was all I could do today, says Wallberg and continues:
— Fantastic to go home with two medals. I told myself before that I would definitely not go home empty-handed, so I’m happy.
On Saturday, Wallberg also secured bronze after a tough final in the hump course, where the Australian Matt Graham beat the Swede in the fight for the silver with a pitiful 0.38 points.
Just like in Sunday’s parallel hump, Kingsbury won gold in Saturday’s hump.
