Wallaceburg pair arrested on outstanding warrants taken into custody

A Wallaceburg woman and man were taken into custody after Chatham-Kent police responded to a report of two suspicious people at a business in Wallaceburg just after 9 p.m. Saturday.

Police located the pair and learned they each had outstanding warrants and were both bound by court conditions not to communicate with one another.

The 32-year-old woman and 30-year-old man were arrested for their warrants and both charged with two counts of failing to comply with their conditions, police said.

They were both taken into custody pending a bail hearing, police added.

Drug possession charge

A 31-year-old Chatham man, known to have an outstanding warrant, was arrested Saturday afternoon after being located on Welling Street West in Chatham by a Chatham-Kent police officer on general patrol.

While being searched during the arrest, police said the accused was found to be in possession of suspected crystal methamphetamine, resulting in him being charged with drug possession.

The accused was released with a court date, police said.
