A 22-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing an impaired driving charge after being refused service at a business, along with charges in connection to the 18-year-old female he was with.

Chatham-Kent police were called to the McNaughton Avenue business in Wallaceburg Monday afternoon regarding an intoxicated male who was refused service.

The male left before police arrived but was located a short time later driving in the area of ​​Baseline Road.

Through investigation, police said an officer believed the male was driving while impaired by alcohol, resulting in him being arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

The accused was charged with a blood-alcohol concentration above the legal limit. He was held pending a bail hearing, police said.

The male was also found to be breaching several conditions of his release order, which included that he did not contact or communicate with the female who was found with him, police said.

Police said the accused was charged with three counts of failing to comply with his release order.

The female was charged with party to the offense of failing to comply with a release order and later released with a Jan. 9, 2023 short date, police said.

Man found in stolen vehicle

A 32-year-old man is facing several charges after being found in a stolen vehicle.

Chatham-Kent police said the accused was spotted in the vehicle stolen Monday night by an officer on general patrol in the area of ​​Delaware Avenue in Chatham.
