Community members have a chance to nominate businesses or individuals deserving of recognition for Wallaceburg’s annual business excellence awards.
Nominations for the event, hosted by the Wallaceburg and District Chamber of Commerce, can be made online at www.wallaceburgchamber.com/2023-business-excellence-awards until the end of May.
There are nine categories open, including business of the year, agriculture and women in business.
Jill Misselbrook, executive director of the chamber, said the organizers want to involve the community before the nomination committee makes its selections.
“We feel it’s important to get individuals from the community to nominate or vote for their serving person or group,” Misselbrook said.
“That way… it’s a community project. People are out and about in the community and maybe we’re missing somebody.”
A ceremony to announce the winners will be held in the fall.
