Wall Street rises on Thanksgiving eve

(Finance) – The Wall Street stock market continues to rise despite the less reassuring messages arrived yesterday from the Fed and ECB, which invite caution to those who are convinced that the monetary tightening is now over. The good performance of the tech sector in the wake of the quarterly of Nvidia, performed better than expected, albeit weak on sales prospects in China. The title is also under scrutiny Microsoftwith Satya Nadella’s company encouraged by the new board of directors of OpenAI, a company of which it holds 49%.

Trade is reduced in view of Thanksgiving holiday, which falls tomorrow, and the American stock market will remain closed. On Friday, however, it will respect a reduced schedule.

On the macro front, the number of workers applying for unemployment benefits for the first time decreased, while orders for durable goods in the United States fell more than expected.

Among US indices, the Dow Jones rises by 0.49% to 35,261 points; along the same lines, small leap forward for theS&P-500, which reaches 4,560 points. Positive the Nasdaq 100 (+0.7%); with similar direction, fractional gains for theS&P 100 (+0.51%).

In the S&P 500, the sectors performed well telecommunications (+1.00%), informatics (+0.68%) e secondary consumer goods (+0.61%). At the bottom of the ranking, significant declines are evident in the sector powerwhich reports a decline of -0.48%.

At the top of the rankings American giants components of the Dow Jones, Microsoft (+1.54%), 3M (+1.43%), Cisco Systems (+1.06%) e IBM (+1.03%).

The worst performances, however, are recorded on Walgreens Boots Alliancewhich gets -1.53%.

Disappointing Caterpillarwhich lies just below the levels of the day before.

Lame Wal-Martwhich shows a small decrease of 0.74%.

Modest descent for Merckwhich drops a small -0.71%.

Between protagonists of the Nasdaq 100, Enphase Energy (+3.55%), eBay (+3.47%), Advanced Micro Devices (+3.45%) e MercadoLibre (+2.51%).

The worst performances, however, are recorded on Autodeskwhich gets -5.65%.

Tesla Motors drops by 2.88%.

Decline decided for Zoom Video Communicationswhich marks -2.29%.

Under pressure Nvidiawith a sharp decline of 1.67%.
