Wall Street opens cautiously higher

(Finance) – A cautious start for the Wall Street stock exchange in the last session of the week with investors fearing that the Fed could launch a further monetary tightening to contain inflation.

The Chairman of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, stressed that he is not sure that the US central bank’s position is sufficient to bring inflation back to the 2% target. In the wake of his statements, American stock prices yesterday interrupted their longest positive streak in the last two years with caution prevailing over operator sentiment.

Among US indices, the Dow Jones rises by 0.24% to 33,972 points; along the same lines, small leap forward for theS&P-500, which reaches 4,358 points. Fractional earnings for the Nasdaq 100 (+0.44%); along the same line, with a moderate increase inS&P 100 (+0.32%).
