Wall Street cautious Fed and interest rates protagonists

(Finance) – Wall Street cautiously continues a session devoid of great ideas and with investors waiting for the Federal Reserve meeting on Wednesday. Meanwhile i Treasury yields Americans hit their highest level since April 2011, with traders trying to anticipate the Fed’s decisions.

A 75 basis point interest rate hike is now a foregone conclusion, but some analysts are bracing for a 100 percentage point hike, a move unthinkable just a few days ago. Yet another scorching report on the US Consumer Price Index has increased the pressure on the central bank led by Jerome Powellsuggesting that the FOMC still has some work to do to contain the rise in prices and that the odds of a hard landing for the US economy continue to rise.

New interest rate decisions from the Bank of Japan and the Bank of England are also expected this week.

Among the US indices, the Dow Jones the session continues at the levels of the day before, reporting a variation equal to -0.03%; on the same line theS & P-500, which remains at 3,873 points. Almost unchanged the Nasdaq 100 (-0.03%); on the same line, on the levels of the eve of theS&P 100 (0%).

Significant increase in the S&P 500 for the funds materials (+ 0.90%), industrial goods (+ 0.71%) e secondary consumer goods (+ 0.54%). In the lower part of the ranking of the S&P 500 basket, significant falls are manifested in the sectors sanitary (-1.11%) e telecommunications (-0.47%).

The strongest sales, on the other hand, show up on Modernwhich continues trading at -9.26%.

Negative sitting for Lucidwhich falls by 4.02%.

Sensible losses for Dexcomdown 3.47%.

Breathless Align Technologywhich falls by 3.40%.
