Walborg celebrations in Lund start | SVT News

The Walborg festival has once again taken over the student city of Lund. Tens of thousands of party-hungry visitors are expected to make the pilgrimage not least to Stadsparken – for laughter, music, picnics and perhaps the occasional alcoholic drink in the company of good friends.

The spontaneous party usually attracts around 25-30,000 visitors and the police have announced that they will be there with an extra number of police officers and also police volunteers.

Nitrous oxide debate and entrance tape to the student accommodation

And even before the party has started, it has been noticed in the media.

Among other things, it has been about students at the Parantesen residence in Lund having to show an entrance band to get into their home – a way that the housing company uses to prevent large parties from derailing.

It has also been about the municipality’s efforts to stop the sale of nitrous oxide, where the politicians’ decision to extend the ban was stopped by the County Administrative Board, before it ultimately went through.
